Have you considered dressing your Cocker Spaniel up for Halloween this year? One of our fans on our Facebook page submitted this fun picture of her dogs getting in the mood for Fall.
Some dogs hate getting dressed up in jackets or coats, even in inclement weather, but some dogs love it. Is your dog a jacket-lover or a jacket-hater?
I laughed at some of the dog costumes pictured here. Some of them are outrageous, but some of them are pretty cute.
These pics are fun, too.
I personally like this dog Halloween costume because it’s not too irritating. Just a fun jester’s collar to add a festive feeling to our walk of the neighborhood on Halloween night as we take the kids trick or treating.
If your dog doesn’t mind wearing a jacket, these capes always make me think of SuperMan or Super Woman.
Better yet, if your dog loves dog jackets, check out this one for your sweet princess female Cocker Spaniel:
Although my favorite of all isn’t a Halloween-y jacket at all. It’s kind of a preppy jacket, which makes me smile.
Here in North Carolina, it’s usually too warm for dogs to wear coats, but I used to live up North and plenty of dogs appreciated the extra protection in the winter. One year it even snowed on Halloween (a huge snowstorm that practically shut down Halloween for Minneapolis!) and dog owners were glad to have dog jackets or coats on their pups. Of course, most years jackets and costumes are just for fun, but sometimes it’s nice to be able to double up on a purchase, especially is a Halloween costume can be used later on as a winter jacket.
Of course, if you let your Cocker Spaniel’s fur grow out, you might not need a dog jacket at all. A lot of us keep their fur pretty short, though, just because brushing and grooming can be quite the hassle. And back in Minneapolis, I sure did see a lot of dog owners using booties on their dog’s feet to protect their paws on those coldest winter days.
So… tell us: Do you dress up your dog for Halloween? And if you do, where do you get your dog costumes? Do you make them by yourself? Post your best Halloween pictures here or on our Facebook page so we can all enjoy them!
